Purpose

An academic session is one school year, e.g. 2025-2026. Almost all enrollments, fees, and exams belong to a session.

Who uses it

School Admin, Registrar.

Institution.

Step-by-step

• Menu → Academic Sessions → Add
• Name: 2025-2026
• Start date: 2025-09-01
• End date: 2026-07-15
• Check Set as current session ☑
• Save.

Only one session should be "current" at a time.

Example story

Green Valley runs two sessions in database (2024-2025 archived, 2025-2026 current). All new enrollments automatically tie to 2025-2026.
